How to to restore a exalate connected system from backup?

Do you have instructions on how to handle the situation, if one of the synchronized exalate nodes fails and has to be restored from a backup?

What happens with the sync messages which are currently In Progress? Do you have to take manual steps to recover gracefully or does exalate handle this situation on its own?

Each node stores their ingoing and outgoing Sync Information locally right, or is ist stored on one side of the sync link only?Quelle: Jira Server/Datacenter (old community)

Hi Thomas,

If one of the sides need to be restored from the backup, that can easily result on inconsistency of the date between the two sides, if this happen we recommend taking the next steps:

  • Deactivate your connections
  • Access the page $BASE_URL/secure/admin/exalate/supporttools!Default.jspa
  • Clean-up all (you have to do this on both sides
  • 1 CSV file will be generated per connection, this contain all the issue pairs between the two systems
  • Active your connections
  • From any of the sides, use the Bulk Connect functionality to reconnect the issues, you will need to input the CSV file generated of the clean-up of that instance

Note that you will only need 1 CSV file per connection, the one from the side you are going to generate the Bulk Connect.

This will get all the issues reconnected and everything should be back to normal.
