How to set a trigger when setting up a sync in Visual mode?

Originally asked by Sam Lauwers on 12 March 2021 (original question)

I’ve set up a sync between 2 Jira instances in Visual Mode and tried to trigger the sync when it enters a certain status, but this does not seem to work. Once the issue is created on one Jira it immediately syncs to the other Jira.

Hello Francis,

Everything works fine now, but now I’m experiencing the following problem:

I changed the workflow on 1 side and the part where you can change the Status (under Rules) is not changing…

Also when I delete the connection and create a new one, I still don’t see the new status.

Sam Lauwers

Did you put the scope on automatic sync

Put that one on manual, and add the trigger

Hi Francis, yes both directions are in Automatic Sync Method

Can you then change them to manual and try the trigger for selecting the issues to be synced?
