Synchronisation of Insight object happens based on object name or object key/id?

Originally asked by Kinnera Siriki on 11 November 2020 (original question)

Hello Team!

Recently, I have seen your post in LinkedIn regarding the synchronisation of Insight objects through exalate Jira Sync. That’s a very good feature of yours and would like to know few details regarding it.

Suppose, I have a use case where I configured 2 Insight objects with the same name but with different attributes i.e.,

First object named as User info with attributes User id, Status, Key, Name

Second object named as User info with attributes Account id, Order, Key, Name

Now, let’s create an issue with the First object. Synchronisation happens in this case?

If yes, then the correct object will be synchronised or not?

My major concern is that Exalate Jira Sync looks for name or id as an identifier to synchronise data?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Regards

Kinnera

Hi Kinnera Siriki

Thanks for raising the question here.
The way that exalate works is that you specify on each end of the connection what information is being sent over and how incoming information is being applied.

So what insight object is being synchronised depends 100% on what object you include in the outgoing message and how that object is being applied on the other end.

Not sure if this is clear
