How do I get a custom field to populate in a mapping?

Originally asked by Andy Vander Meulen on 23 March 2021 (original question)

I created a custom field in Jira and want to sync it with Zendesk. When I go to Triggers > Rules > Add Mapping, the custom field that I created doesn’t populate in the list. I tried refreshing by selecting the i icon, but nothing updated. The custom field has been created for 12+ hours, so I thought it would pick it up by now.

Do you know when Exalate Core 5.1.0 set to be released? If I create a new connection, will it sync the issues that I had perviously synced or will I need to do those again?

It is currently under validation for Jira Cloud, however I can’t disclose any dates just yet.
Our intention is to deliver it to Jira Cloud, then to Zendesk and Azure Dev Ops.
As for the new connection, yes, I’m afraid so.

Hello, Andy Vander Meulen, I’m afraid until the release with Exalate core 5.1.0 you’re limited to two options:
1) create a new connection (it’ll pick up the custom fields for that moment)

2) use scripted tule to populate the field instead.
Please, let me know, if you have any questions on scripted rule or the first wrok-around.

Regards, Serhiy.
