GitHub cloud to Jira Cloud issue migration

Originally asked by Ben Roussel on 29 April 2023 (original question)

Context: I want to migrate all issues from GitHub to Jira.

Outside of the field mapping setup that needs to be done (I have that figured out), what is the best way to achieve a one way transfer or migration of the GitHub cloud issues to Jira Cloud?

What configuration settings should be used?

For instance, should I comment out all the Incoming code on the GitHub connection and all the Outgoing code on the Jira Cloud connection to avoid Jira changes to update GitHub issues?

Hi Ben Roussel ,

Indeed, it is possible to disable synchronization from Jira to Github by commenting out the entire “Incoming Sync” rule on the Github side. Alternatively, it is also acceptable to comment out the entire “Outgoing Sync” rule on the Jira side.

I trust this response adequately addresses your inquiry. If you require further clarification or have additional questions on this matter, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Thank you,

Ashar
