I gave it a quick try and both add-ons can live next to each other.
An interesting use case is- Issue is created on JIra
- Jira Issue is exalated and in the description we add the commit message to be used
- Twin (the git issue) gets selected for development, and a git action creates a branch
- The github addon shows the development branch in the Jira issue, the status of the Jira issue is progressed to 'In process'
- The developer commits a change (adding the Jira issue key in the commit message), the github issue change to 'in review'
Is this what you are looking for?

Hi,
Is it okay to use this app with Exalate?
https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1219592/github-for-jira?tab=overview&hosting=cloud
Will be any problems with using Exalate for syncing issues between GitHub and Jira Cloud?
Thanks,
G
